Privacy Policy

Proffiller ("we", "us") provides a browser extension and companion website (proffiller.com) that help you fill out web forms using AI, based on answers you've previously given. This policy explains what data the extension and website collect, why, and how you can control it.
Information we collect
Answers you teach Proffiller. When you type or correct an answer on a form, we store the question and your answer so we can reuse it next time a similar question appears — that's the whole point of the extension. This is saved in your browser (chrome.storage) and, so it's available the next time you open a form, associated with a random profile ID on our servers. You don't need to create an account or give us your name or email to use the extension this way.
Form and page context, at the moment you use the extension. To generate a suggestion, we send the field's question text, its type (e.g. text, dropdown), any selectable options, and the URL of the page you're on to our backend. We only do this for fields on the page you're actively filling in — not your general browsing activity.
Account information (optional). If you choose to create a Proffiller account (to sync your answers across devices), we collect your name, email address, and password (or, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile info Google shares for that purpose) via Firebase Authentication. This is entirely optional — the extension works fully without an account.
Feedback you send us. If you submit feedback from the extension or the feedback page, we collect whatever you include: your name, an optional email, your message, and any screenshots you attach.
We do not collect passwords for other sites, payment details, or your browsing history outside the specific page you're filling a form on.
How we use this information
We use the information above to: generate AI-powered suggestions and corrections for the form you're filling in; remember your answers between sessions and across devices (if you have an account); respond to feedback and support requests; and maintain and improve the reliability of the service.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. To operate the service, we share data with a small number of service providers acting on our behalf:
- OpenAI — processes the form questions (and, where relevant, your saved answers) to generate a suggested answer. OpenAI does not receive your name, email, or account details as part of this.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure — hosts our backend, database, and file storage.
- Firebase (Google) — handles optional account authentication.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Proffiller, our users, or others.
Cookies
The published version of the Proffiller extension does not use cookies to track you. A cookie is used only in our internal testing builds, to keep a tester's saved answers stable across reinstalls during development — it is never used in the version you install from the Chrome Web Store, and it never reads cookies set by other sites.
Your choices and controls
You can clear everything Proffiller has learned at any time by removing the extension — this deletes its local browser storage. If you'd like your server-side data (your profile ID's saved answers, or your account) deleted as well, reach out via the feedback page and we'll take care of it. If you have an account, you can also update or remove your account details from your profile page.
Children's privacy
Proffiller is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above.
